Yes - it doesn’t have a petrol V8 or a Diesel engine......it’s FWD and an electric motor.
Very quiet and fully charged every morning.....if you want ie, 320+ kms.
i-cockpit interior layout.
Someone said it’ll be pretty common in the not too distant future.

Should I change the heading to, "The Latest In Electric Cars"?

I get the feeling you won't be linking to many articles regarding to anything with an ICE.

Opps is that a link to another electric car fire.

Dude I think electric vehicles have their place, and as time goes on they will get better. But considering them to be the be all and end all at the moment is ridiculous.

I’ve been working with diesel electric, and battery electric industrial equipment for a while now and I can tell you once this tech filters down to the automotive market we’re in for some impressive stuff.

Could Ford get the Fiesta back and make it electric? Maybe?
Or just give us a modern electric Focus like they sold in America.

What do you mean get it back? It's still the highest selling vehicle in Europe and the Fiesta ST goes on sale here very soon.

Ford will be using VW's EV platform to make a small EV from in the next couple of years. The VW version is called the ID.3 and goes on sale next year.

I really like the electric classic conversion idea Ryeman. Take (in my case) an XW or HR wagon, remove the inline 6, place the electric motor up next to the transmission (I know you could put it all the way at the back, I've seen guys still use the gearbox and like this) - then arrange the batteries so they look like a big inline 6 in all the motor space under the bonnet.

(Then put it on club plates & charge it via home solar - CHEAP motoring )

Apparently the UK city of Bristol is banning diesel vehicles in it’s city centre from 2021.
That’s just the beginning of the end.

Actually what they're really doing is planning to ban privately owned diesels from entering part of the centre from 7am to 3pm.

Bristol is small beer .
The emerging middle classes of India and China, not to mention others of Asia and the subcontinent, are suffering from horrendous particle and gas inhalation.
The city’s administrators have been formally advised, by the medical profession, of the physical harm caused, and the emerging class action lawyers have made a note to enable themselves of the potential for increased profits.
There is no escape from the hard data coming from this.
We will import what we can get our hands on, but have zero influence when it comes to the manufacturers and their survivability prospects.
Some will also argue on the subject of CO2 reductions.

Thats probably more to do with over population rather than diesel cars.

Here's a bloody great idea - don't have god damn cities with circa 30 MILLION people.

A good lesson for Melbourne and Sydney and our politicians with their 'big Australia' fetish.

Why don't Australians buy more EVs?

https://www.caradvice.com.au/804269/...rending&slot=2

Quote:
Driving range, price, and limited knowledge of the available choices are three major impediments to improving battery-electric vehicle (EV) take-up in Australia.

That’s the quick and unsurprising summary of a market survey from analytics firm Nielsen, called Caught in the Slow Lane, Australian Adoption of Electric Vehicles.

As the name suggests, market penetration of electric vehicles in Australia is far lower than most equivalent markets across Europe, Asia and the USA.

While data is hard to source given Tesla’s reticence to divulge local sales, combined market share of EV and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) is well under 1.0 per cent.........more in above link
