Just a heads up for anyone else in the ACT that has their cars registered in a company name there is no legislation that governs who can access your company details and change the company address on your rego forms. 2 years ago we had 2 directors resign from our company, twice in the last 12 months they have rolled up to rego and changed the company address so that they received the renewal rego papers for cars that they had taken that the ownership was in dispute of. The first we knew of this was when rego stickers and renewals didn't show up in the post. They didn't have to prove that they were directors of our company they just produced a license and bank statement to prove their residential address. There is nothing to stop them doing this, the staff at rego are aware of the problem but cannot effect legislation changes to prevent it. They have suggested that the best thing to do is to write to the Urban Services Minister to have the legislation changed and to urge others to do the same. This has been a major pain in the proverbial for us and could be for others.
Thanks BJ
