Default Sad End for a New Lamborghini Urus

https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/cri...ng-b881354546z
Quote:
A luxury sports car costing upwards of $350,000 has been left anything but the beautifully engineered road beast it is after it was crashed into by a car allegedly driven by a 14-year-old boy.

Police believe the driver of a yellow Lamborghini Urus was in the wrong place at the wrong time when they were taken out at the intersection of Birdwood Avenue and Bland Street.

It is understood no one injured in the prang.

A spokesman said officers were scouring Como just after 8pm after reports a white Subaru Forester stolen from Stirling earlier this month had been sighted.

Authorities say the car was eventually spotted in a driveway on Birdwood Avenue, with police in a marked Hilux parking up behind it.

“As officers exited the Hilux it will be alleged the Forester reversed at speed, crashing into the rear pod section,” a WA Police spokesman said.

“The Forester then continued west on Birdwood Avenue where it crashed with a yellow Lamborghini at the intersection of Bland Street.”

The Lamborghini Urus, according to multiple Australian online car guides, is worth more than $350,000.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested nearby after allegedly fleeing the scene.

Among charges laid against the teen was two counts of stealing a motor vehicle and three counts of stealing.

He will appear in Perth Children’s Court today.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers.

But we no neither will happen so let's hope the Urus owner had comprehensive insurance with replacement new for old cover.......or has very much more money than he knows what to do with.

I was somewhat excited that maybe Lamborghini came to their senses and they discontinued their ridiculous SUV entry but no.

Hah, like any of those things will happen.
At worse he'll get an intensive supervision order, I mean we don't want to crush his spirit or anything, "He's just a boy that made a mistake your worship".
Should be flogged with a rattan cane like in Singapore.

14 yo pinching cars !
meh ~ doubt hell ever amount to anything where he'll be able to earn enough to have a $100 spare a week ever
and then hell still owe

say retire 65
65 - 14 = 51
51 years to earn said amount
51 x 52 weeks = 2652
so 2635 weeks of earnings @ $100 a week = $265,200
still along ways short of 350000

Shouldn't we add the $40,000 value of the stolen Subaru too? I bet the Subaru owner's are feeling bit overlooked and forgotten in all of this. Admittedly I hate Subarus with a passion so one less doesn't upset me.

I've been saying this for years. The whole basis for sentencing is wrong. You should put a monetary value on the crime and the perp should be put to labour until the debt is paid, and then only considered for release if certain they are no longer a threat to society.

But we live in such a ridiculous society now they were talking on the telly this morning about putting less stress on people sitting exams. THAT'S THE POINT! Assessment prepares you for real world work. No wonder some people are useless in the workforce...

Anyway our time has passed. The young ones will have to figure out the future..

I often make typos. I always try to be forgiving as I have special reasons for being forgiving as I have a learning disabled son who has great trouble with spelling and grammar; see my post here https://fordforums.com.au/showthread...hlight=grammar and https://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11472110
But yes; if a typo results in some humour, I may have a non-malicious friendly dig and if a post is has so many errors that its meaning or embedded question is ambiguous or incomprehensible I will ask for a translation.

Glad everyone in this thread is more concerned about the monetary loss of a piece of metal than the well being of a literal child. 14 years old's don't wake up criminals, society makes them into one.

Should not we also show some concern for the innocent and heavily pregnant passenger and her unborn baby in the Urus? https://thewest.com.au/news/crime/he...ng-b881355979z

...In any event, this the pub section of a motoring forum, not facebook, so I think you should sort of expect the focus to be on the vehicles. While, I do share your concern about the issue but there are plenty of other more appropriate forums to discuss youth welfare.

Yeah right
Lets look at his parents first
Then the actual system
Then government handouts
But ultimately JAIL, now !

Lets face it, would you steal a car if when caught you get 20 years incarceration
Answer: no !

I have played step dad to several children, they start out alright, schools tell em they have rights and they turn, then start shoplifting and get a slap on the wrist, it escalates over time and we have no control of a 14yo (but are still legally responsible, but have no power to even make them attend school) so we set them free..........

A few turn into crims, most remain dropkicks (and a drain on society) leaving the few who actually have the light bulb moment

Redbook have them listed at $390k new (plus on-road cost).
Second-hand, 1 year old the value is listed at $290k.

I have seen another Urus driving around West Perth. (dark grey).
By the way I believe I saw a yellow one there before, so perhaps the original owner of the damaged one got an identical replacement, but grey this time.

Cheers,
