My uncle (old hotrodder) gave me a video tape (not DVD!) that "some guy" makes each year when he goes to the USA for a holiday. It's basically him attending hot shows, swap meets, hotrodders homes, etc. Very entertaining watching them going hell-for-leather in a dual-carb'd, sidey-powered rat-rod with leaking front drum brakes (ie. brakes smoking from fluid on the shoes!!). I've only watched about 1hour of the 3hour tape, but it's amazing the cars that they show sitting about. Obviously he's fixated on early iron (pre-'48 stuff) but I keep seeing plenty of classic iron sitting in paddocks on the side of roads. People talk about a shortage of classic iron - being crushed - but when you can find rows and rows of pre '48 Fords, there is still a lot of hope for 50's/60's/70's stuff. People just need to think outside the classic Tri-Chev/'Stang/Camaro mould ..
