Question AU 2-3 remote: Unlocking all doors with one button press

Hi,

Anyone know of any aftermarket AU 2-3 remote fob capable of unlocking all doors with one button press?

I bought a few aftermarket fobs off ebay over the years; could not programme any to "all door opening" mode .

Regards,
George V

Hi might be that they cannot transmit both button pushes at once to change the opening mode. Cheers MD

Hi. Should be the same as the BA, hold down both the lock AND the unlock buttons on the remote at the same time until the blinkers flash. When you use that remote the car will unlock single door then a second press will unlock the rest of the doors. Change it back the same way. Only works with the 4 button remote. Cheers MD

Hi,

So there is no aftermarket option for this. I have a few of those and tried; you can not reprogram them by pressing both buttons.

Last of my OEM unit failed recently - broken soldering / joints. Time to order OEM units. Mrs uses my car once in a while to transport our toddler; fumbling with remote to open back passenger door is not an option....

Thank you all,

Regards,

My understanding is that the function is not 'remote' based, but BEM based.

Once you set the BEM to have an unlock command unlock all doors (as all AU's should be, always, ever) then it's right for all remotes that you have coded to the car.

I have both a OEM and 3rd Party keys, both are programmed to the BEM.
I can change the OEM to single or dual stage unlock.
3rd Party can only do single stage.

Each key can behave in it own way. Not one out all out.

Exclamation Re: AU 2-3 remote: Unlocking all doors with one button press

It's true it is the BEM that keeps a record of which remote is set to two-stage unlock and which is set to one-staqe unlock. However it also depends on the remote accurately transmitting the button combination.

The OEM remote transmits the codes according to the buttons pressed (and the BEM works out how to interpret the message) and, if multiple buttons are pressed, the remote says so. The clone remote must be only signalling that one button is pressed, even if more than one is pressed. The software must stop checking the other buttons after it confirms the first one is pressed.

They must have missed the subtle difference when doing their reverse-engineering.
