It is with sadness that I'm advising you of the passing of Dave Taylor (Solarite_Guy).
Dave has been a member of our Forum for over a decade, and though he lived in the US, he was always helpful in providing advice, gaining many friends across the ocean. Dave suffered a fatal heart attack at his home on Oct 28, 2019, and a memorial service was held on Dec 29, 2019. RIP Dave. Last edited by Captain Stubing; 11-01-2020 at 01:23 AM. Reason: Dates... |

So sad, he was just so knowledgeable, I took his advice on the baby Voodoo cam for my mildly modded 5.0 Windsor, every time I drive it I’ll remember Dave, RIP mate.

Didn't know Dave, but read a lot of his threads - particularly engine/cam design and so on. I do remember some thinking they knew best,
only for Dave to set them straight through his vast knowledge. Considering the feedback here, and the information he gave to the forum, probably wouldn't hurt to have a small brief recognition for him run a few weeks in the Forum header, e.g."RIP Dave Taylor (Solarite_Guy)28Oct19, your contribution won't be forgotten." At the end of the day, he was an active Forum member(one of our own), and his posts live on for all to read. |

I had noticed he hadn't been online for a few months and feared something may have happened to him. Was a super friendly and helpful guy who's wisdom and willingness to share said wisdom will be sorely missed by this forum and no doubt others. RIP Dave.

Dave was the kind've bloke who would be embarrassed by the amount of 'thanks' he's got in Swanny's opening post.
RIP mate.

I recall Dave mentioned in a post about 12 months ago that he was recovering from a major surgery.
Had also noticed he had not posted or replied late last year and wondered recently if all was not OK. |

Was a great guy. Went out of his way to run a simulation of exhaust sizing on pipemax for me without the slightest hesitation. He was just happy to help and his advice was spot on. A true legend. |

WOW what a shock , Dave has helped understand the finer points of Camshaft selection and engine design .
My current combo would not make the numbers it does or be such a joy to drive without his Knowledge . I have emailed Dave quite a lot and he has been a fountain of Knowledge and I got to know him quite well , his Knowledge on many subject was amazing , I remember discussing weather patterns with him . I have been compiling a file of pictures for him. What an amazing guy and will be sorely missed Totally agree with Brad's sentiment RIP my friend, you will be sadly missed. I'm sure those small block fords in heaven will be kicking ****
