Default Unlocking/doors open, but no interior lights on - How??

Read a while back that you can programe your AU interior light/s not to come on when unlocking with remote, or when door/s open. Can someone explain how this is done please? :

I haven't heard that... are you sure it's not just a Police option?

Remove the bulb

I thought it was on police cars and it was a re-wire job.

Yes, has something to do with the Police cars. The interior light will only come on when you move the switch that adjusts the brightness of the cluster/dash lights to it's upwards most position.

I wouldn't think it was involved as much as a re-wire job, but I don't know. Thought there was some sort of diagnostic entering procedure of sort that would turn this feature on (or off).

I have mine set-up like this, the indicators also don't flash when you use the keypad.. IIRC a mate did it for me with his carman scan tool.

Dont like the idea of other people knowing if your car is locked or not? does your horn still indicate that the car is locked?

That could be it. Racecraft.. can you get more details please? I would like to know how it's done. I'm guessing if you have an alarm installed, it still chirps when locked/unlocked?

It's not a Police option for this. This can be done by means on some stupid combination of pressing things and stuff. I'm just no too sure how, but I know it has been done.

The Police option is just a master kill switch for all interior lights at any time. This means even if you have the engine running, no dome light or curtosy lights will come on when presed on or door opens etc.
