I went to change my fuel filter today and had a bit of trouble getting it off as the inner clip of the fuel line closest to the tank broke and the repco fuel filter that i purcahsed had a white clip that doesnt fit inside the fuel line.
I was told that this was the correct filter so i am unsure as to why this clip will not fit ??? Has anyone else had this problem and if so were will i be able to purchase the inner clip that was originally fitted??? hurry back or else im going to smash the car out: :sm_headba |

damn that sucks.
you might have to get a second hand one and get the clip off that. i cant think of how to fix the prob. if the clip plays no important role (ie just to hold whatever to whatever and not actually responsible for allowing fuel to flow) then just duct tape it for now and get a clip tomorrow??? otherwise smash ahead........lol

Well there's not much i can do with it tonight so might have to try a ford wrecker tomorrow or my other option if it works will be to do it old school and cut off the niffty little clip holder and just use a small hose clamp to clamp it to the inlet on fuel filter side ????

Just happened to me, i had to buy a new fuel line from ford from the top of the tank to the fuel filter 35 i think. ford dont sell the clips seperate and u need a special tool to get em off without breaking them. Mine was wrecked once i persuaded it off, Take off the cover inside the boot to get to the top of the tank, siliconed on real good u might need to panel beat it after removing it.

A hoseclamp will work fine so long as it isn't to big , otherwise it will oval out while tightening it / causing it to leak . cheers .gl

eeewwww /shudder Repco Fuel Filters eeeew /shudder I stupidly bought one of those damn ripoff things last year for my Corolla, got the old one off, put the first nozzle on then the 2nd one "snap". Cheap and weak plastic on the lower nozzle snapped off part of the filter inside my fuel line, fortunately I got it out with a crochuring hook :eclipsee_ But I will never ever buy another Repco branded part again, I do like the looks and performance so far that I am getting out of a Valvoline high performance one. Lets be sensible here would u guys get around with a bodged up fuel line when a brand new one is only 35 bucks. why wouldnt ford use hose clamps on all of their cars with electric fuel pumps even if the hose clamps are good for it{ safety is most important, would u like fuel squirting on your exhaust} Replacing the fuel line is a piece of **** anyway and for 35 i dont c the dilemma???????? Wer'e not talking bout cars that are worth only a coupla grand :eclipsee_

Has anyone got any pics of how you actually remove these type of filters? Also how do you replace the A/C drier, as it has a strange spring like connection |

So glad this thread was here. I did the exact same thing. Was cursing Repco! Anyway, off to the local wreckers and it took 5 mins to cut one off there. What a stupid bloody part.

Mate iv used the sharpy pens, the cap u use to insert into The clip push it down should unlock the clip as its lid of a sharpy just measure the length cut of and diagonal so fits around the filter and Just push in so pushes the clips in both sides!!!
