Default Show us ya... 4D Ultrasound

Inspired by XRchic's Avatar.

A 4D Ultrasound image of your soon to be bubs is one of the coolest things to see.
The reality of becoming a parent gives you a hit right there if your a first timer.

I'll kick off

I so wanted one of these done when I was pregnant with my little miss, but my partner was all like blah blah blah they too expensive. So I just have a video and some pictures of her blowing bubbles. At one stage she was kicking back with her arms behind her head and her legs crossed, but she moved when they were about to pic it.

Awesome pics though, I dont think they are creepy at all, its fantastic how you get some basic idea of what your baby is going to look like. Although when you first meet them they have a differant shaped head. LOL.

Good Luck with everything when it all starts happening.

Beautiful pictures

I've had 3 kids and it still amazes me when I see pictures of a new life. It's absolutely awesome that we create life and to see it like that, in 4D is truly amazing!!

They are fairly spooky looking pictures hey... the technology really is mind blowing. Must be fantastic for parents-to-be... so excited for 9 months, must be a real highlight getting to see such clear pictures of bubs.

Could be a cool thread to chuck in the Photoshop section .... and start a Chop Competition on it

As said ... pretty bizarre look at the unborn baby.

In a way it looks at time .... time before the child is born ... less than 0.
Yes I am being a smartass now ... hee hee

4.9 EF Futura ... some parents just want the baby here ... my fiancee's sis-in-law has had a hell of a pregnancy and just wants the damn thing born ... over and done with ... she has been sick the entire pregnancy ... high blood pressure ... no energy ... to and from the hospital ... all sort of issues.

Yeah, this is my third and the best I got with the other two is the regular black and white scans. Although even they have improved over the last 10 years!

The 4D ones werent that expensive actually, I guess it depends on where you get it done. We got a 25 min dvd of the whole thing as well, no extra cost.

Well I have just gotten back from my 39 week check with the obstetrician and he has decided to induce labour next Wed, 12th of April!!! So I go in Tuesday night. Apparently the baby is too big. Plus I have gestational diabetes and high blood pressure, so all in all, safest to induce, he thinks. 5 days to go!

Hmmmm.

Yeah thanks. I was induced with my other two and no major dramas, but who knows?!

They are reasonably common. Benson Radiology did mine, and I think that Jones & Partners do them as well. Not every outlet will do them though, so you would have to ring and check to see which locations do them. I dont think you will get it done as a replacement for your regular 20 week scan unless you have a private doc who has a machine in his rooms. You will have to just ring and book one in, with a referral probably, in one of those places. You will have to pay full price, most likley, which is around $150 or so.

The results that can be had from "ideal" settings are amazing.
Ours had its moments, all captured on the dvd but IMO she took the pics at all the wrong moments or at least a second or so to late which blurred some into not so ideal pics.

Great news re: Wednesday Jac.
All the best to you both.

Well, next week me and my other half will be getting a 19 week scan on our first (if we can get in - very booked out atm). Very interesting to see it using the 4d scanner.

I will also make the aaumption that the 4D part comes from the fact it uses a 4Hz frequency.

Good luck!
