Hello all,

I am Andrew. I have just joined here at ford forums. I am 18 and from brisbane in sunny qld. I at present drive a 2000 Falcon Forte Sedan, White in colour (my fathers ride) but I am looking at buying a 1997 Fairmont Ghia EL navy blue sedan. It comes with all of the original accessories and I have decided to keep the original head unit stereo and just relocate the cd stacker under the drivers seat instead of just pulling it out and buying a whole new stereo system.

Any comments on what I should do to my new vehicle, please tell me.

Andrew.

EL Ghia's are factory optioned with Tickford motors so you wont need to spend big dollars on internals just yet.
Look at shocks and springs, diff ratio,Extractors and system a good filter(K&N,BMC or Redline which is what i use) brakes and wheel bearings, and CAI with large flow induction pipe.
Thats a good start
Happy modding and welcome!

Welcome Andrew, EL Ghias are a real nice car, a set of EL GT wheels and some super lows would have it looking great.
Just check with your insurance before you start modifying it.

Welcome aboard Andrew

I had a EL Fairmont GHIA, nice ride. I bought mine mainly as a car to make noise, sound system. But also went the extracters, exhuast, mild cam, unichip, filter, induction etc.

And EL looks mint dumped with 17/18" wheels on it. Go the Simmons FR18's polished centres and tint and will look a million bucks, then just depending on how quick you want it, will depend on other mods. More of a cruiser, the factory bodykit looks also too

  • 17's (Being 18 like we all were once, tyres will be alot cheaper then 18's)
  • Lower
  • Sunroof
  • Tint Windows
  • Stereo
  • Little engine gains like filter, bigger CAI (Cold Air Intake)
  • Think about your insurance. If you go and whack extractors on it, it may very well hike up your premium.
Welcome and have fun!

Use the search feature, and post in the right section to get the most results!
