What is it with the latest fad on new cars i.e. rain sensing windscreen wipers -WTF? Surely you can tell if it's raining or not?

95% of people that get in a car today turn on the car and turn OFF their brains, one more thing that has been automated.
Most people have only learnt enough to get their licence but don't know how to "drive" a car.

Same reason they build auto gearboxes,
laziness The other thought could be it is one less thing to concentrate on, drove a merc recently and truck splashed water accross the front, before I could even find the appropiate stalk it had operated, pretty cool actually.

Well i got a auto last time so i would stop myself smoking my wheels up. But yes abs brake. How are kids going to know how to break right if the car is not letting them lock the wheels up. I only 21 but the first thing i learnt. I also lived 45km out on a dirt road, best thing to reach you how to drive. Then i went and moved to nice sealed roads, and got a ba falcon. Things made me lasy and not as good of control of the vehicle to what i had. Mind you i still have got some better skills then what some people have these days. But my old man said to me, you never learn to drive cause you always learn something new everyday, your training never completed. I dont think anyone should deny that one
