Couldnt agree more, its something I'm very mindful of. A close mate has lost his job and may lose his house. We went out for a drive yesterday, take his mind off his woes. Terrible times.

I agree. Been watching one as well. Dropped 15k recently. Another 10k and boom I will pounce.

I think you'll find a lot of the dosh used to purchase old classic cars has come from boomer inheritances and because many of those would now be in their 50's and 60's they're probably nearing retirement and woudn't be as affected by the economic situation or the need for job keeper like 20 or 30 somethings in the hospitality industry who aren't in your typical classic car buying demographic.

Well I've been watching a Black C63 since January. He keeps dropping the price every month. Dropped 15k since Jan. Hopefully he goes down another 10k so I don't have to wait or save up any longer.

I don't want to sound insensitive here but there should be some cheap cars come September when the Jobkeeper payments end.

I've been looking for a cheap BMW 8 Series and right now there is less than normal for sale on Carsales. Currently 4 on there when usually there is 6-8 at any given time.
2 of the current 4 have probably be for sale for about a year. Makes me wonder what's wrong with them apart from the tacky wheels and wrap job. |

Eg the car i looked at on Saturday clearly wasnt what i wanted, so there was no need to take it for a test fang. Politely thank the seller and be off. The other element i am aware of is extreme caution. Id hate to rush the process to snag a 'bargain', end up with something not quite right, or worse stilll... be the next seller.

I’ve started to see a few cars where the ad says “sale due to covid” but the prices are a bit optimistic. Obviously selling your pride and joy is heartbreaking but as mentioned before everyone is in the same boat, they can only try.
