In my last job I had new lease cars every for 4 years over 20 years (nearly always Fords). Just before I finished up with that company in 2017, I bought out my last lease car which was a FG G6E and kept it for my wife.
I then had to decide what to buy for myself. I could have afforded a newer car but in the end was very happy with my choice of a 2000 model AU XR8 with 230k on the clock. I did make some improvements after I bought and it has now just ticked over 270K on the odo. It still drives great and I have no plans to replace it.
