Is there anything you can do to make the exterior or interior more secure, such as a metal cage storage cabinet for your tools? Or make it harder for them to get into, or out of, your yard?
Once the building on the now vacant block is completed there will, in addition to no vacant block behind me be a new much higher fence and retaining wall there. Everything is otherwise as secure as it can be and so far my expensive imported padlock has not been beaten. But if more expert thieves have go it may of course be beaten and doubtless with anything in locked cabinets etc they just take the whole cabinet away.

The uh locked cabinet, aka, safe should be bolted to the cement floor. Assuming you have a cement floor?

Never liked steel sheds, they tend to give you a false sense of security.
News is full of scumbags removing side panels to gain access.
I use anchored shipping containers with a open covered port between but lucky to have 2 neighbours with dogs.

Might build a bigger shed later around the shipping containers.
