Didn't get too do much today as my friend came over and asked me to help him install his new sub an amp. Only managed to pick up a set of hinges for the amp racks. The pics should give people a better idea of how the back of the tailights will be easily accessable...

the shot where you can see the mdf shaped with the single hole is his old setup, you can tell as the car is still maroon in those shots.

the car is currently in primer, and the install isnt as far progressed as to have the sub mounting yet....

Sorry mick didn't see that question. I'm running an alpine CDA-7998r, this HU is going to the grave with me, absolutely love it

For those that aren't in the know...

Sorry it's the best pic i could find :/

Anyways time for an update. Not a whole lot has been done as i've been putting my time into installing my friends stereo (he bought all my old stuff and is chucking it into a camry lol crazy). Yesterday my mate and i started making the structure which will eventually turn into a the sub enclosure. It's about half complete, so all that's left to do is to extend the walls up another five inches or so (the pic explains what i mean a little better) and then to grind off any unessesary sections and protrusions. The subs only JUST fit onto the face of it, so i'm lucky in that aspect. I may haveto cut the sub box down a little as the reccommended size encolusure for these subs is rediculously small.

Here's some pics, remember that nothing is bolted in yet so you can forgive me if some things don't look exactly aligned/squared up.

As seen in the pics, I also started to make up the rear walls to cover the batteries. Can't really do much in this area yet until i finish the sub box, as this is what is going to dictate were the hinges need to go, how far back etc that the rear wall needs to be. Still need to figure out a way to access the batteries easily, but all in good time.

Since i'm here, rather than starting a new topic, I might aswell include the pics of the new cooler installed. We had a little trouble at first getting it right, but a little thinking quickly solved that problem (but not before we already ripped out the grinder and commenced "Plan A" :P).

John gives his approval

More updates when they occur (yes i know i'm painfully slow)...

Heres one for you, straight from the CFA Guide Lines

"If at anypoint you cannot access the gas tank access panel, safely, notifiy the police as a fine will be issued"

Make sure you can access that panel on your tank as soon as you open the boot, not many coppers do it by its a nice 2000k Fine

The back board is going to have two latches at the top and will be hinged at the bottom, so all you haveto do is open the boot, and fold the backboard straight down over the amps, access granted, simple.

Nothing would surprise me with the current government. ;)

Nice work there Steve, coming along slowly but surely. Did you run your cabling from the battery to the engine bay under the carpet or underneath the car?

Sorry 2k

opps

Anyway, its a big fine for no complaince plate, or forged complaince plate

Also if the tank is covered or inaccessable its another big fine, even if the coppers just pull you over for a check

Steve, did you sort out the boot struts? Do EL boot struts fit? If so get some ELGT spec struts. They are designed for the extra weight of the spoiler and would work a treat.
