Hello All,
am a new forum member here and have to be honest with you I have joined out of a need to try and find a part. My mate has just dragged a 1933 B Model out of its storage where it has been for approx 70 years he is going to restore it. The problem is the car was off the road to have some engine repairs that involved removal of the head which is now lost, so we are trying to procure a head for the car. The head does look very much like an A model, and an A model will fit, but the A model water pump protrudes too far forward causing trouble to get the fan to fit behind the rearwards sloping radiator. therefore to kep the car original without modification need to find an original head. A B block with an A head would be kinda like a BA, and there's plenty of those around.
In all seriousness, good luck, can't imagine it's terribly common at all. |

With that link from Bevsta, you shouldn't have any problems at all ordering the parts.
But, you will probably find that you need all the parts for a full overhaul of the engine, and oversize the pistons, grind the crank etc, while you are at it. If you don't, it will leak oil, smoke and knock, or barely start or move forward at all. Oh by the way, I would have slotted in the entire engine from a 2.3 EcoBoost :-) I'm sure you could dress that up with some of the old parts to look old, such as the air cleaner, fake carb and spark plugs with open wires etc. It would at least run a lot quicker that way Cheers, |

Today, the 1932 Model B, although always a little bit in the shadow of the V8, is a highly collectible car and people will pay thousands of dollars to restore one to original specification, which is ironic, as they were once cheap "throwaway" cars popular with hot rodders who would tear them apart and use them as the basis for a "build", which is partly why it is so hard to find an unaltered specimen today.

Hi Beech, this is a very good ford forum, but it's mainly for modern stuff, 60's and up, a good forum to ask this is 'Ozrodders', hundreds of old knowledgeable guys who play with this era of fords all the time.
Moderators, don't hate me, just trying to give some good advice (i think). |

As chilly said ozrodders is a good place to start and a guy buy the name of Colin Bates will be a guy who can really help
I’ve got a few different 4cyl and V8 flat Head heads here if you have a photo to ID it I may be able to help
