Hello,
I have had this car since almost new (bought it as demo). Last few weeks the engine started vibrating so much there is no pleasure in the drive anymore. Vibrates when idling and when driving. As far as performance, fuel consumption etc goes there is no difference, all runs well. No DTCs. So, I replaced the engine mounts... but to no effect. From googling around I maybe need to inspect PCV system. Can anyone concur? Or suggest anything else I should check? Cheers. |

Did you replace the engine mounts with genuine hydraulic units or solid rubber?
Solid rubber usually has the same effect as a broken hydraulic unit.. |

yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if I still had a 'broken' one on.
I wasn't aware ther are different types. Is there a way to tell what I have? Not sure how familiar you are with these cars, but to me it seems that only the right one could come in a hydraulic option? The left (gear box) looks a little to small to be anything other than a solid rubber. |

Just had a bit of a look at it and it doesnt look all that bad to me. All dry and straight.
Since I am running out of ideas, i am thinking of replacing it. |

is it down a cylinder??
use a Pyrometer to measure each cylinder temperature for "COMPLETE" combustion.

This is what the crankshaft pulley looks like
I wouldn't think it is missing a cylinder. It runs normal, just noisy and shaky. I'll try checking the temperature hmm.. not showing the picture |

most times you can see the crank pulley run out of true while the engine idles. But it is not a positive check for defective pulley

Just changed the pulley... and the vibrations are still there
Looks like I need to take it in for a proper check |

It has crossed my mind, since the pulley excersize.
Wouldn't the engine run poorly in that case? I guess it does already, but performancewise it seems good enough for 200k. Any good ways to investigate that? |

Did you do all the engine mounts? The upper one you can see in the engine bay, the roll restrictor/torque mount on the gearbox and the one under the airbox?
Mine would vibrate the **** out of the dash at idle and the bonnet looked like it was going to shake off its hinges. |

Mine vibrates at any rpm. But maybe not as much as what you guys experienced.
I replaced all 3 mounts. For the gearbox one I chose the $70 one over a $300 one. And those made no difference |

Looks like @GTLEGEND; was on the money.
I got another right engine mount, out of Ford this time, and it did the trick. And it only cost $40 more that the aftermarket one. I cannot believe how much time (and money) I wasted on this. Thanks everybody for helping |
