Hey up.
So issue I'm having is my 2006 Focus Zetec is going through so much oil. Changed it at 142321 and its almost at 144000, and the dip stick is hardly reading anything. Previously filled it with 5w40 penrite ($65 for 5L) Issue seems to be that oil may be getting past rings as one of the cylinders has a psi of 100 or 106 (hard to read what someone else wrote) So rather than fork out the cash for "standard" oil, what would be some cheap alternatives. Currently looking at Shell H7 10w40 as I can easily get it from Kmart for like $37 |

IMO If your burning though that much oil the engine is gone/ needs a rebuild , it don't really matter what you put into it - just buy the cheapest oil you can as long as the weight is not way more heavy - the 10w40 should be fine

with those Klms it is more likely to be the valves than piston rings
