Default Chrysler 300 SRT withdrawn for sale in Australia

If you are keen on one, you should get on it quick.

https://www.caradvice.com.au/914051/...-in-australia/

I love these cars and well I guess that's the last we will see of big RWD V8 for decent money around here.

Surprised it made it this long. They sold like 50 of them in 2019. Probably less last year. Most likely nearly all to the cops.

Like so many things we insist must be made available in RHD, very few people actually wanted one.

This adds some perspective to Mustang sales level in Australia, thank goodness next gen is an evolution.

Well with 50 then it is no wonder. Apparently they only sold it here anyway which surprised me.

I would have thought maybe they would have picked up quite a few some sales from lack of Commodore or Falcons. But perhaps more are holding onto the locals and/or they buy a family car and then pickup a Mustang as a toy.

People want the Challenger and Charger
Although the Charger is the same car is has a known name plate and looks different the 300 which would refresh the car in a way, as the 300 has been here for ages.

I'd like them to bring the Charger and Challenger here but I'm thinking that is very unlikely.

The car hasn't actually been withdrawn I think it has been misreported. It is that the 6.4 motor is currently not available for order for Australia (Jeep SRT included)

FCA (Aust.) believe they have more important work to do with reputations and what not before getting in to that sort of stuff.

Cant see its worth their while to convert them, the conversion adds too much to the cost and then they dont sell enough of them.

The LHD/RHD thing can be a pain as we miss out on many cars that would probably just get shipped over if it werent for that.... I guess its too late to go back now!

Rok, I think you'll find the car in that photo is a Sebring, a hateful FWD thing.

The Crossfire was built on an old Merc SLK platform.

As for OP, will be a shame to see the Big 300 SRT gone, and with it the affordable RWD V8 Performance sedan.. Now you either have to grab a Stinger or spend a shedload more coin on a C63S....

Yeah they dropped it in the US a couple of years ago, and they kept making them for here. With sales basically non existent it was just a matter of time before it got axed.

Yeah thanks, I only noticed the Chrysler badge.

Back to topic.

Crossfire -

Sebring -

For some unknown reason, Chrysler offered the Sebring in soft top or hard top convertible options. Both were appealingly terrible. And the Crossfire? Appallingly terrible too.

Sad day. I used to have one years ago. It was great when it worked.
Even though it was garbage I still miss it. 5.7, 6.1, 6.4 and 6.2 are all great sounding engines

I thought they killed them off here a few years ago, then they got resurrected.

Early ones were boxy and poxy, the most recent ones were actually decent cars, that went really well with the 6.4 Hemi and 8-speed combo, sounding awesome while doing it. I thought they were real bang for buck cars actually.

I would quite happily park a Crossfire SRT6 in the driveway no problems at all, the Supercharged AMG M112 3.2L V6 is a sweet engine while underneath the rest of the car is basically a SLK 32 AMG......

If you could mash the Gen1 exterior with a Gen2 interior then that would be sweet.

Might be a good time to snap up a Gen1 at a decent price.

A bloke at work was saying how mad the NSWHP 300s sound full tilt and he doesn't even give a **** about cars.

It's a bit of a problem because the ZBs and 300s are end of life or soon will be. The Stinger despite the upgrades might be short lived too.

What are we gonna do for HWP after this?

We still see a lot of HWP VF II Commodores around Sydney, even the occasional FGX.

Hopefully a Tuk Tuk, because that's all they deserve.

The NSW grubberment in conjunction with the epitome of capitalistic greed (Macquarie Bank) have gone all out with 150 additional mobile speed cameras, removal of warning signs, and removal of reflective identifiers as well as having a range of makes and models, all in the 'name' of safety, but with the intention of just making as much moolah from Joe Public as possible.

Highway patrols might as well be made redundant (better still, just utilise them as real cops, but unfortunately, most are fat, unhealthy slobs that would die of a heart attack chasing anyone on foot)

i believe there's only 1 marked FGX turbo left in NSW.
Saw it on Friday in Surry Hills; CLM232.

SRT's are costing a fortune to run and there have been long delays for parts

Not even sure why HWP need large RWD V8 power anymore? Saw a N-Line (? could have even been an Elantra) sedan NSW HWP flat chat chasing someone down on the Hume recently. Staggering acceleration.

This could also go well. I see Maxx Performance managed 12.4 1/4 3.4/100 without a tune on a car with 400kms.

I've probably 'chatted' to more HP Plods than you and never seen a fat one

Diesel BMWs, apparently quicker and cost half to run.
