Post Toby Price Finally on Sunrise.

Dakar starts in 13 days.
And finally, Toby is getting coverage on Sunrise.
After being ignored for years by mainstream media Toby is getting coverage. Bring it home Toby!!

A genuine good sporting bloke. We met him at the Alice in the lead up to the Finke in 2018 then again at the Townsville 400 last year. The wife and I must have made the wrong impression, he remembered us from the Alice..

And don't forget he WON Dakar in 2019 in his field (motor cycle), came 3rd this year.
He's had 2 wins and a couple of thirds from memory.

Isn't he also the only driver to win the Finke in both car and bike in the same year?

Got close in 2016 2nd in the Trophy Truck and then 1st on the bike. Pretty tough ask but someone will get it one day.

Collar bone from what I heard.

I hate the Finke and Dakar, riding in crap like that boring as and dangerous as hell as ya can't see dust holes that will swallow ya front wheel and over you go before you know it.

I like to see trees and creeks and hills when out riding, all this winning stuff is just nonsense.

I have mates who go out to Finke, I don't get it. I liken it to a ****ing contest.

It's a competition, it separates the competitors from the tourists

A mate races out their every year, asked me if I wanted to come, no thanks ! not even as a Tourists would I bother to go their.

So many miles of just nothing for that.

Last year my mate said Finke was just crap as the track was destroyed.

I would get a Fraser Island ride up the north end going and that would sort them out. as my mate has never been to the Island as he is to scared to go.

You must be fun at parties. I've been to Finke, it was fantastic watching the top bikes and cars, hitting the corners, jumps and negotiating the whoops.

People either want/need to race or they dont. Like everything in life its not for everyone and winning is for very few.

Lots of self funded men and women compete. Against the best, their mates, or just there own times. Most meetings are electrically timed and results available online and sometime live for the world to see.

Mylaps Speedhive and Computime are just a couple of systems used. If you tell people you raced at a particular meet, if they know your name they will likely be able to look up your results.

Then there are those who tell people how racing is silly and how good they are at the North End of Frazer Island.

Haha when I was working people would poke their head in and ell me the cricket score, I thought, well I don't have a clue and nor do I care about cricket at all, but as to the scores ? give me a brake.

If I am into something I like to see the sport for myself or best when I compete in it so as to enjoy the ride that's the main point.

I never said racing is silly.
All I meant was you could be challenged on Frazer Island if you wanted and as to what the top end of it looks like after the fire may fill the void for nothingness some what to ride at, but only you don't have to drive all that way out to Finke.

In fact Fraser would be a top spot for such a race, get some money happening so they can maybe build fire brakes like they once did.

I never said it would not be so.

I say that I would not bother to drive all that way to see it, all the way out their, just to see it and go home. it's a bit of a drive you know and I drive more than most people will even think of driving.

Don't ya know who I am, I am Mick Taylor, the life of the camp fire.
