Hi all,
I’ve got a 2011 Focus LW 1.6 with 195kms (manual transmission) I only recently bought, and have to fix the power steering assist issue so I’m curious if I should anticipate any other known problems. Engine wise it feel/sounds/drives great. However, I’ve noticed it sometimes (rarely) makes a thud/churn when engaging reverse. And there’s a very slight delay. Other gears are fine. This is my first time with a manual transmission... Is this an indication of some sort of problem on its’ way or to check out? |

a lot of 5 speed are clunky going into reverse.
My Fiesta 2008 1.6 was certainly clunky into reverse. The worst was a 6 speed Hino truck with reverse right next to first dam close. Take off at the lights and here the reversing beeper. Woops. quick stop into first. Even my current car a 2020 five speed manual Fabia is sometimes slow to engage reverse. |
