Default MC 120k service

Hi guys, long time reader of forum but finally have a question.

Due to do the 120K service next month and just booked it via the Ford/dealer website.
It says its $860.00 and it list the service as changing air & pollen fillters, change of spark plugs and oil change, but doesn't mention the transmission fluid filter oil change. I didn't know if its not listed as there too many items to cover, or they just didn't do it? i can't see it listed as on of the extra service options, and my dealer ALLWAYS has extra items they want to add.

cheers for advise

$860??? Do it yourself and save about $500, unless the plugs are expensive. The pollen filter is probably the trickiest job, but we can help.

Every 60 thousand kilometres the transmission oil for the 6DCT450 - MPS6 PowerShift is changed. This explains the high price. Same at all dealerships - over here and in Europe. It needs to be done.

MC TDCi (Diesel) and MC EcoBoost (Petrol) both have the same PowerShift transmission that requires servicing!!

If that's including a transmission oil change, that's a good price I feel

ok, cheers.

I have to use the dealer as locked into an extended warranty. It being a Titanium there is just so much electronics in it that I wanted the peace of mind of the warranty, which i have already had to use to fix the heated seats controller and one of my rear windows went bang and then refused to stay up, which they also fixed under the warranty.

Its a fantastic car, and intend to keep for a long time.

Another question.
Last service they where pushed for a fuel injector clean service. I couldn't see it as a recommended Ford service, where they just pushing for extra work?

cheers

Check your service manual. Ford revised the service requirement for Powershift transmissions on the Mondeo, amending the service manual with a sticker as a service action. Should be every 60,000 km.

If it has a Powershift definitely make sure that it is serviced. The fuel injector service is not required and is a money making exercise for the dealer.

I have a MB diesel wagon with a similar mileage to yours which I really should replace now it is 10 years old. But I like it and do not want a SUV, which leaves few options now.

hi - late reply; don't have any contacts in WA as could of put you in front of a DCT450 specialist here in Melbourne that services these transmissions without the huge mark ups from the Ford dealer (more than half price of what Ford charges)!
