Default MD Mondeo Ambiente DRL's

Just wanted to know if anyone has successfully switched off the halogen DRL's on a MD Mondeo Ambiente? I know with my FGX sprint i just pulled the fuse and worked a treat. I hate things being on when they don't need to be.

Yes that makes sense. Get rid of a perfectly good safety feature because it offends your sensibilities.

If your vehicle has the adaptive headlamps then it is all driven by the BCM and HCM including the DRL's and if you don't then it's the BCM alone.

In some markets, the DRL's had a relay mounted on the side of the glovebox but I don't believe we got it.

If you are really determined to get rid of them then you need to either cut two wires at the BCM (the LH and RH DRL's are driven individually) or one at each of the LED drivers as per the block diagram below:

At the BCM you are looking for:

RH - PIN 36 - Pink Wire / White Stripe
LH - PIN 40 - Grey Wire / Blue Stripe

Note that the BCM has a fuse panel as well but the only related fuse is the HCM one.

NO guarantee that it won't throw fault codes by cutting the wires either.

I can't say for sure whether they can be disabled in the modules themselves.
