I was just rotating the tyres on my EL and noticed that the welds that are just behind the back doors on both sides where the rear quaters/wheel arches meet the sill that runs below the doors have cracked on both sides. The car has had a decent smack in the bum a couple of years ago, enough to buckle the wheel arches, but I have neveer noticed this before. What do yo guys reckon.

I'm not sure exactly where you mean, is it the part thats only visible when you open the back door? If that's the same place i'm thinking of, the rear 1/4 should only be spot welded to the ИИИИpit, not MIG welded along the whole join.

It's actually on the outside of the car above the lower sill, basically the sill line just before the wheel arch. The question i'm asking is whether anyone else has had this problem or is it due solely to a bodgy repair job by the panel beater. I want to go back to them and get it fixed but have something to come back at him with when he says "they all do it after a few years". Sorry about not being clear but it's hard to describe the spot.

It shouldnt be welded there, it should only have seam seeler and thats what has probably cracked nothing to be really concerned about.
