I think you'll find it is different. The V8 ones are commonplace on Ebay, presumably aftermarket.

Edit, damn beat me by a matter of seconds.

If you want a laugh ring Ford and ask for a price on a genuine one. Think four figures....

I've used one from ebay. About $160 I think I paid and the price has come down a bit when I last saw them. Had no complaints with it. It had a warrenty.

V8's use a gear reduction starter.
Will pick up one of the ebay ones soon as I think mine has buggered armatures or something. Fine sometimes, other times not.
Pretty sure ford charged $390 or $490 for them. Not 4 figures as mentioned above. Might give them a call just for laughs.

Last time I checked, fords list price was $880 but depending on who you get they may sell them for quite a bit less. Still far cheaper to get an aftermarket one, I got mine from Sprint Autoparts (SA only) for just under $200 from memory.

They sell a genuine and non genuine one. A mate got a quote as well a few months back and was told over $1000 plus gst as well. He bought the non genuine one and was around the $400 mark.
