petition to stop flights especially to and from india, until their coronavirus is sorted

dont know where to put this petition but need to get it out and fast

as you all know the coronavirus in india is pretty bad at moment and we australians want to stop it (and anymore cases) getting into australia and chance getting it into community and locking us down yet again.

we want flights to and from india banned altogether until they got everything sorted as people and business are suffering and dont want lockdowns/or things closed.

some people live at properties that arent setup properly for them to not be affected if someone in the main building had to have a test and/or quarrantine seperately so they dont have to chance facing longer, some also dont have their own seperate living spaces even on same property detached from houses.

some also dont have proper sheds of their own and totally depend on local mens sheds and accomodation such as apartments and cabins to get by till they have their own.

business especially small ones have suffered enough already and pubs clubs and cinemas already had to close once.

do appreciate that theres genuine australians who are trying to get home but something needs to be done and fast to stop flights until sorted.

we also want christmas island to be used as quarantine place as well and we want quarantining in remote areas with helicopter ready to fly to capital cities just incase

please everyone we need as many signitures as we can

During the height of the pandemic in Europe many borders were closed.
There were no flights anywhere, so people from those countries you mentioned couldn't get here anyway.
Besides, they didn't have 10's of thousands of Australians trying to return anyway.
India did nothing to protect it's people from this virus, imposed no restrictions or very little.
Remember when all flights from China were banned, was that racist?
Do you want to have many more lockdowns, businesses and peoples livelihoods going to the wall?
These people who want to come "home" because it's safer here, went "home" to India for weddings, funerals, business interests etc. They knew the risks of snap lock downs.
They've had months to decide to come back or not.
So please, don't wave the racism/redneck flag, nothing to do with race.
It's about protecting our own well being and economy, if India want to flagrantly ignore all the health warnings that's not our problem.

All the more reason our health system can't cope with letting in virus infected people willy nilly.
Imagine how much more worse it will be.
And yes, the government can protect me from the virus, by not letting more carriers into the country.
Plenty of healthy people have been struck down, not just oldies and people with underlying issues.
Anyway, you and I will just have to agree to disagree on what we think is best for ourselves and our country.
