Default How much for a 302

A mate is selling his 302. Been reconditioned a few years ago, runs hard with no smoke, yet to do a compression test though. He is using the carb/starter/alternator on his newly built motor.

Any idea ballpark price they are selling for?

Sounds like you are considering a swap for your w116 Nab.

What kind of a mate would sell you a motor, or allow such a swap?

I’ve got one, virginal short block. If a mate said “This is what I really want to do”, I’d tell them get stuck in and at the appropriate time there will be a free/$Beer motor to suit.

Any ideas on price? $1k, $2k, $3k, more/less? Only considering buying it as it's a known motor that goes great. Just wondering if I should grab the motor regardless, can always sell it on if I don't use it but don't know it's value.

What would you pay for a 302 that has been reconditioned at a guess 20,000km ago and runs great?

$500-700 sounds very cheap for a good motor. Seen motors that need rebuilds go for $500, is what it is I suppose.

Clevo or windsor? Is it fuel injected/carb does it come with a decent dizzy ect. Lots of variables. I would guess a good known runner would go for $1500 pretty easy.
