Default Ls Focus - Headlights Out Of Position??

Had the right hand headlight replaced in the focus, it was out of allignment pointing way down towards the ground now, went to go and adjust it but theres no way of adjusting them??? I even pulled the headlight out of the car to check (you have to neways to get to the back of it), and there was nothing!

Before anyone says anything, the LS Focus CL does not come with the headlight adjustment on the dash, so therefore we have a high left headlight and low right.. I even looked at the left hand one and broke the ИИИИing CLIP on the shield on the back off it, hopefully they will replace that under warranty and i dont have to buy an entire new headlight.

Cant wait for this thing to do its time and be replaced by another mazda, true dissapointment in more respects then one.

If worse comes to worse, I guess you could put spacers in the mounts for the meantime.

while we are on the topic of headlights does anyone have the problem of one high beam light being dimmer than the other one? Now before you tell me to change the globes and various other things ive already tried. Put new globes in, put the old one back in adjusted the little screw things on the head light (did sweet ИИИИ all mind you)

So if anyone has ideas that would be awsome, also has anyone got some ideas (brands prices etc) for new brighter globe for the zetec (03 one not the new one)?

Without stating the obvious, the right hand light IS supposed to be lower than the left. Designed so the light isn't in the eyes of the driver coming the other way (RHS in Australia). In otherwords, the headlight is higher on the footpath side than the drivers side.

Hard to comment further without seeing the problem, but maybe you're trying to adjust something that shouldn't be adjusted.

On dash headlight alignment, at least in the LR Focus, adjusts both headlights at once anyway, so wouldn't help if it was there

If i remember correctly (I'm not going outside in computer clothes) There are adjustment dials/grubscrews sitting on the top of the headlight. There white and I think you use an allan key to adjust it.

Yeah i have used those, they do very little at all. Still cant work out the dimmer high beam globe though, very annoying.

not being a smartarse, but thats just due to the perspective.....

sit on the passenger side of your car and you'll say they're the oposite

yes, they are the adjustment for the reflector , the geared ratio isnt 1:1, so it will seem as though they arent adjusting...
use an allen key type bit on a fairly slow cordless drill........and dont over adjust them or else you'll stuff the adjustment.

my reccomendation is to take it to a panel shop or electrition to do the adjustmeny for you.....

I stripped the thread off the adjustment knob of our my parents old EF the second day they had it in 97. :S

A garage that does roadworthies should be able to adjust it as well to suit ADRs beam direction height

No its not perspective. I was told while driving up to someone at night with the highs on that one globe was dim. I told them the same thing "just the way you are lookin at it dude". But when i sit in the car and have the lights pointing at something that reflects the image of the car (like a window) the passenger light IS dimmer, and it never used to be.

Im not sure when exactly it happened, but i hit a bird and it blew out my indicator on that side (big ИИИИing bird). Im assuming it could have something to do with that, if the bird hit it hard enought to blow a globe maybe it knocked the high beam relfector thing right out of place?

Its not important cos the light still works its just a masive pain in the crack.
