Beautiful looking car but i do have to question why it's not been auctioned through one of the more high profile auctioneers. I'm sure they are the go to for offloading livestock and wool but I doubt they would have to many watchers waiting for an XW GTHO to come up for sale lol, I bet I and many others would have never known about it had you not posted.

Do you have to be registered on these auction sites to see the bids as I can not find any prices put forward.

I would have thought a lot more. What is the difference between PhaseIII and PhaseII pricing usually? 2x?

reality is the ph2 GTHO got the whole shooting match, the detroit locker, close ratio long extension housing top loader revised stub axles ie what you bought was, bar blue printing what raced. although the ph3 is seen as the pinnacle, when you bought one, you got a special car but the real special ones were the QC cars that were prepared for racing and raced OR prepared and never did. thats what makes the ultra white saddle trim low miler that has just come to light publically VERY SPECIAL dont get me wrong they are all special but some are more special than others. with regards to the ph2 in question ive never seen it in person but for an electric blue ph2 to not go north of at least 400k in this climate to me indicates there may be a negative or two associated with the car. seems strange......

I met an owner of a Phase II once and he reckoned on launch the front wheels left the road which is pretty nuts when you think about it for a factory car.
Then there was the Phase I with the Windsor, which I've always had a soft spot for even though it didn't win Bathurst: https://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/f...phase-i-review

Hi Every one,
I remember once reading years back now that Allan Moffat went to the then Ford Factory in Victoria as there was a Ford Open day on. He said that there was only " 662 XW GTHOs built and and 300 XY GTHOs made". He later said : his never seen so many GTHOs ever" and i wonder if any of these GTHOs were a fake or how many were fake? |
