Sorry for a slightly obscure pair of questions. Someone here must be able to help.
1. Are these actually flat glass? 2. What’s the travel of the glass clips (eg, glass height above the beltline)? Looking at possibly using these regs in another vehicle with flat glass, it would give me one-touch power windows and probably cheaper than a kit from Electric-Life. |

Here’s a slightly obscure answer if it helps at all.
My r class has a curved front window. It winds down to maybe 10mm above the sill. It’s similar to a gl/gls and ml. If that helps at all. |

The glass in a G wagon is curved slightly, I dont know about the first model G wagon, but the later ones definitely are

I think the curve is slight, like you cant put a RH glass in the LH side, I think the mech from looking at them online would just go up and down pretty straight, so you should be fine

Thanks, might even be able to press them a little flatter. The glass clamping is very basic, they look a good prospect. Dodge/IH cab ‘60s-70s would be the recipient.

It will only be the measurement of the window from top to bottom, the old dodge has a tall glass, if you were to use the front regs from the G wagon you might be ok with its limits, the rear G wagon regs dont go all the way down.

Don’t have a G available, have truck with knackered manual regs and the glass looks similar sized. Maybe the Benz is shorter, as PJ suggests. Planning a restomod as the driveline is already changed (345-4V/NP435/BTR78 and PAS).
I’ve got the (Scientific Publications?) AB-line manual which is in just-usable condition. Picture in there looks identical. |
