Looking at getting a short shifter kit for my AU XR8 T5.
Some of the options I am looking at are MGW https://www.mgwshifters.com/shifters/mustangs/73 3 different shafts are available so would probably grab 2 or all of them. Mal Wood https://malwoodauto.com.au/product/t...ang-commodore/ Ripshifter https://www.tuffcarparts.com.au/ea-e...on-ripshift-sh Cube https://cubespeed.com.au/shop/ols/pr...u-6-cyl-and-v8 Leaning toward either Mal wood or the MGW but interested in any feedback people have on any of these or others. I dont think the Billet brand is available anymore.

I had to look through the previous owner's posts to find out which one I have. Apparently I have a MGW shifter.
If that is the shifter that I have then as fordomatic said, great shifter, highly recommend. Not only do they reduce the throw of the shift but improve the actual shift immensely. |

Do you get much noise from the MGW? I once tried removing the rubber isolator from the stock shifter and ended up putting it back in a few days later cause it sounded like a truck gearbox without it.

Yeah, I do get a little noise. Sometimes it sounds like particularly in third gear that I need a gearbox rebuild. Then again, with 280,000 odd ks, maybe I do.
