Depending on whether you have an AU1 or an AU2/3 dictates whether you need an oil pressure switch, or an oil pressure sender.
The switch is the smaller unit which switches the gauge to either "yes" it has oil pressure or "no" it does not have oil pressure. It will put the gauge to either 2/3 or in the red zone. A sender is a larger unit which actually sends a signal of how much oil pressure it has and the gauge will show the actual reading. The two units are not interchangeable so if you have an AU1 you need the larger sender, if you have an AU2/3 then you need the smaller switch, for your gauge to work properly. Hopefully that helps. |

Do V8’s with Low series dash including XR8 and TE50 use the oil pressure switch, and V8’s with Hi Series dash Fairmonts TS50 use oil pressure sender…. or does this change in reference to Series 1
