Hi Roddy Rod. Are you talking about the actual chromed metal dealer badges that were popular in the USA around that time?

My friend has acknowledged the request, still got to hound them to sort through the collection!

Guessing it’s this type of badge, per Fleabay:

Isn't it funny how things change. Can you imagine rocking up to your local ford dealer in 2021 to take delivery of your new Mustang, to find the first year apprentice standing there with his Ryobi cordless in hand and admiring this little beauty that he's just drilled and screwed to your boot lid!

I reckon go for it Rod! I can fully understand why you'd like to track one of these badge down and even fit it to your '67. It's essentially a 60's era dealer accessory and they were very popular in the USA back then.

Okay, no doubt very few would choose to have a similar badge fitted to a contemporary Mustang now, but as we know the 60's were different! It would help to authenticate the car to those times.

Bit of a dead-end, I’m sorry. This was the only thing my friend turned up after looking and asking around. Being third-hand info it could be gone by now.

FOUND THE BADGE! But,there's a problem...it's attached to a Car.....buuuuut it IS A Mustang. A '68 Mustang Coupe with a 200-6 with a 3-Speed Stick. 117,xxx mile car owned by the same Gentleman who's owned it since 1978(it was 10 years old at the time..). It lives on a Farm in upstate New York. It's garaged. It's VERY original and un-****ed with. It's about "98%" rust free. Beautiful orig Black Interior, ect, ect. Price??:-$2500. AS IS/WHERE IS. Runs & drives and is currently registered/insured. It's driven once-in-awhile. Jack's known the Owner for many years.
I’d suggest two things, try to contact the seller of that badge on Fleabay and ask if you can get in touch with the buyer - maybe they’ll send a rubbing or even onsell it to you. Also, if you can confirm the spacing of fixings - preserve the holes for when a badge is sorted somehow.

yeah, try that.
my XB has rectangular surrounds around the interior door handles, the lugs on the rear break very easily. The surrounds are hard to find and stupidly expensive when you do find them. I took one to a computer loving mate who drew it and then printed it on his 3d printer. it was then a question of
how many do you want
what colour
do you want your name/rego on it
do you want a copy of the file for future use.
As it is not structural (like your badge) there should be no worries about it being plastic instead of metal.
imo, worth a try
