One of the biggest jokes I have seen for a long time is the fantastic new shopping access strip in suburb of Stirling, just completed with even more traffic lights, parking bays !!, speed bumps !! and this should have been a main artery for solving the 10-15 minute grid lock through the Innaloo area.
Even more, it should have been the main artery, let's call it 'freeway' for getting towards Fremantle when coming from northern suburbs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephenson_Avenue https://www.mainroads.wa.gov.au/glob...-june-2021.pdf Great of the Major of Stirling to finally build 'something', but really what a joke to build it this way. Two of the new traffic lights only let through 4 cars before it changed back to Red. Let's grab that tunnel bore machine that has been buzzing under the airport for the last few years, and deploy it under the river instead, build a proper Stephenson Avenue 'freeway' , drill it under the river near Mosman Pk. towards Attadale, and connect with Stock Rd. |

I suspect that the residents of Mosman Park and Attadale will not be keen on the idea of lots of heavy traffic going through their wealthy suburbs. |

If you look at this link, you will see a map showing Stock Road Tunnel already planned, but will be like Roe 8 and 9, protested and stopped.
