No, the agreements struck for workers at GM were perfectly fair werent they? Yep, they just want to go to work, get their wages and pay off the mortgage.

Oh... and charge 17 million dollars worth of viagra/other erectile disfunction drugs to the comapny.

I assure you my grip on reality is sound.

I'm betting that they massively regret doing that. Saab hasn't turned a profit in years.

Our overseas colleagues have informed us that GM has been looking at closing the Saab factories in Sweden and manufacturing all Saab vehicles at the Opel plants in Germany. That would be the end of Saab as they would lose that one characteristic which justifies their existance - their Swedish 'quirkiness'.

Mgt agreed to these arrangements didnt they? They must have had their reasons, no good crying when its time to pay the piper. Like any other they are contractual agreements and must be upheld. 17 million only sounds significant if you fail to recognise the field in which it sits. Id also like to see the evidence they spent 17 million on viagra. I have no doubt, workers currently covered by the arrangements gave up something for said arrangements. Youve got a grip on something, but not reality. GM wouldnt hand over for nothing.

Regardless, I was simply addressing the tossers argument that unions are to blame for GM's state of affairs. Over capitalisation, poor earnings and prospects created by managments lack of foresight and inability to meet the challenges of Asian competitors. Its simply disfunctional management, with dysfuntional rewards systems.

When you've got 500,000 unionised workers in detroit alone, you dont need to give up anything.

And yes - GM is the world's largest buyer of viagra @ approx $17 mill per annum. Feel free to look it up, only takes a minute.

More likely that all GM buyers use Viagra to help them screw automotive suppliers.

I heard on 60 minutes a couple of years back that GM was also the worlds biggest producer of porn movies. They did some interviews with women who got like 5 grand to do a hardcore flick, and they traced the money tree to a shelf company within GM.

Maybe that's why they need the viagra?
