Im not a wiz on this, but from what I have read so far In a Tesla each individual 18650 battery is wired into a pack, each pack has a protection circuit that will shut the pack down in the event of a short, overheating, undercharging / overcharging etc, each pack is wired into a stack which also will have a protection circuit that will shut down a pack, in the case of getting wet it will just shut down the batteries from completing a circuit.

Biggest problem for any vehicle electric or ICE engines will be the wiring looms & electronics as to how water proof they would be, if these get submersed in water I would imagine the vehicle will be written off like any other normal vehicle.
Batteries would not be an issue as I suspect they are fully sealed and the relative circuitry would shut down. |

Not wanting to capitalize on the misery of others but from what I hear theres been a few flood damaged EV's coming up at auction of late with people doing EV conversions buying them up for their batteries.
