Default Ford Australia Magnesium Mine Shareholding

I remember seeing a press clip a long time ago that Ford Australia purchased a large amount of shares in a Magnesium Mining Company.
I was wondering if anything ever came of that, in terms of Ford trying to build Magnesium parts for Cars?

I remember it too. From what I recall the deal fell through, or it never went ahead?

All I know is nothing ever came from it.
