Default My Auto EF against Manual VR/VS?

Hmmm, well, my stock EF Fairmont can blow off other auto VR/VS's, but there's a guy with a vs sedan, manual, and it's slightly worked (I'm unsure, so we'll just say it's stock).

Having 30 kws over him, he could probably only make up time in the first stint of the quarter mile, surely the 30kws I have would give me enough legs to grab him before the end?

From what I've heard he isn't a great shifter, but anyway...

Ef Fairmont against the VS Manual = ? :/

I just wanna know should I bother, I should I get my regrind from wade, then challenge him ?

Cheers

Forget it sorry (espcially if its a VS), you dont have a chance without some work, more than a cam as well, if he even remotely knows how to shift gears even in a half decent VR, your gone.

Rediculously long 1st, cruisey LSD ratio, fairmont weight and auto equal big problems. With a exhaust and some intake work and cam you should beat a VR, to beat a VS you would need that and some other major work or a 3.9 diff unfortunately.

Youll just have to console yourself with the fact that the EF is a much more comfortable car with a better topend.

Where did you get 30kW from?

EF = 157kW
VS = 147kW

The Falcon does have about 50Nm more torque, but if this guy knows how to shift he will own you.

Ive seen a stock v6 commonwhore with no filter in the box shiftkit and lsd do a flat 15.00 at willowbank (he lent he his helmet)
They can go unfortunately,
and have stroker kits, and aftermartket parts galore available.
Whens someone gonna Stroke the 4.0L? :
Even an offset ground crank can take a 308-330 so surely its possible.

the 265 actually had a 3.91" bore x a 3.68" stroke, a much better revver than the ford 6

Bore & stroke for the 265 is pretty much the reverse of our 4.0's. Piston speed for a 4.0 is already quite high. De-stroking one would be the way to go.

Thats fine dudes,
but it could still be done.
Not being smart or anything,
what about the slant 6, wasn't it the strokiest 6?
Whats the journal size for the big end on the 4L, as 2inch is as small as most vehicles go? Cheers for that info.
Does anyone know the Charger E49 cam specs?
thanks.

As for the holden ford 6cyl race.
I dont think any NA holden 6's have done 13's to compare with our top cars...

There's at least two that I know of. I think blownvn on these forums owns one of them. 13.8 N/A auto VN.

only one way to find out mate. give it a go.
Ill say that you have a slight chance of winning.

Blown VN did run 13's n/a but he spent at least twice as much as you would on a falcon to get the same results ;)
4.0l = cheap power.

He rocked up to an aborted Heathcote meet last year outside Ford HQ, from memory.

It's black or a dark grey or some similar colour isn't it?
