Default Inertia Seat Belt Refurbishment

My ute will need a new driver’s seat belt for upcoming registration inspection. It’s not badly damaged, but still faulty nonetheless (chafed by the seat tilting latch).

Being that some breakers are wanting prices for used belts near enough to a new part, I wouldn’t buy a used one. But searching the ‘net shows a handful of companies here stating they can replace the belt fabric on the original inertia reel hardware and it’s via a legal, certified process.

Has anyone here had a modern seat belt renewed in this way?

I was looking for a new driver's seatbelt for my 1996 Prado 12 month's ago, Toyota wanted $695 for the last new driver's side seatbelt in Australia.
I then went to Willshire Motor trimmer's here in SA and they are licenced to reweb seat belt's, reweb cost was $295ea inc warranty etc, and was a 3 day turn around on your old belt
I ended up finding a pair L&R of brand new APV seatbelt's including buckle's for $95 at Aveska, SA, so bought them, they are oem quality

APV bought out Klippan seat belt's in 2011, APV still sell's replacement belt's for the BA but they're around $350 ea

Interesting - thanks for contemporary price information, too. WA could be either Seatbelt Solutions or Aircraft Interiors.

I note the current stock of Ford seatbelts for the B-series have APV labels on them! Jefferson have these at $267.30 less a $20 coupon on Fleabay. One of the dampeners about non-OEM seatbelts is the report of some users that they don’t fit so nicely into the recess as originals - not a safety concern, just persnickitude.
