Hey guys, hope this thread can sort me out.
As some of you would know I recently tried to put a fairmont dash into a ute. All series 1 gear. Finished it all up, took it to ford and they hit problems. Their words were "component mismatch" Now my thinking leads to the fact that i used a series 1 dash (smartlock) with a series 1.5 ecu (smartshield). This is due to no hand now flashing on the dash. So what I need is a for a few fairmont/fairlane guys what colour their BEM is and what series the car is. I'm curious in all 4 series. To start it off, my series 1 BEM is olive. Cheers

Yeah thanks for that.
After rob's pm, I'd like to hear from anyone and everyone, no matter what your car is. Reason is rob's got a BEM I don't think he should. Cheers

Digging up an old thread here sorry.
I've just bought a 2000 AU1 XR8 (Feb 2000 build). Has smartlock key fob, and yellow BEM. If it's a Smartshield BEM, How are the fobs working? Main problem is Odometer lights are not working, fuse 1 is good, bulbs are good. Have read that the BEM could be at fault. So with it being yellow, it's a high series? Cheers Chris |
