Chairman's Award: Chairman's Award - Issue reason: Your outstanding contributions to this community have not gone unnoticed. IN my view you are a worthy recipient of the (rarely used) Chairman's Award.

Well, I was one of the voters who thought it wasn’t going to be found!

I guess the sting in the tail will be if it’s not the radioactive capsule they’re looking for - but another, not known previously as lost.

So it was find 2 metres from the side of the road not far out of Newman.
Newman is where it started it's journey.
So in a short distance it rattled out of its casing and fell through a hole in the transport crate where a bolt had also rattled out.
That's some serious corrugations.
Great Northern Highway is pretty rough too, very poorly maintained.
Me thinks some new procedures by mining company's will now be put in place.

It was sent from Koodaideri (around 200km north of Newman)

Close, it came from Rio Tinto's Gudai-Darri mine which is about 110km (as the crow flys) NNW of Newman

Thats right, the Gudai-Darri iron ore mine was previously known as the Koodaideri mine
