Those with cars in there being sold on consignment would be reading the fine print of there contacts carefully at the moment I suspect.

Its in the middle of the salvage yard, only insurance cars get racked, the centre of one of the racks is well alight so 3 high about 20 to a level, so 60 will be toast.

So far Pickles have had a car BBQ at Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and now, Perth, starting to be a problem the way the cars are stored, looks like they will have to disconnect the batteries now when they store them in the rack.

Dunno how insurance would work. They have already paid out on them. How do you work out value of a write considering the value can change by 20-30% depending on the buyers on the day of auction

Pretty sure that Pickles own insurance will have to pay each insurance company the pre determined salvage value that each insurer puts on the car when it is written off.

Before the car even goes to Pickles the value is set, Pickles would already know this value, as the insurer sends the wreck value through with all the other details of the car, even when I used to pick them up from AAMI & RAC assessment centres the salvage value was always written on the windscreen.

Insurance companies can still make a profit on the sale of a wreck after the company has settled with the owner, this offsets the loss they have taken in the pay out.
