They should have put the petrol Barra in the PX series of Rangers. Even at the time of development, diesel was considered dead in other markets. The V6 NA petrol hilux was a weapon (that not even talking about the supercharged version) and very underrated. A Barra powered PX would have been an icon.

nope. it's much, much too long. There was a plan to put a V6 petrol into PX1 but that got pulled pretty quickly. your comment about diesel is just about 100% wrong.
