yep Toyboaters are the Kings like olden of the ol days but its range range range, 6 in that top 20, people not care thoughts here about they are "fridges", reputation is nothing like the past, hilux old platform figures says it all.
I'm surprised not 1 KIA making tht top 20 also even though 2 Hyundais.

OLDBLOKE, sorry ever since Everest was released its sales target was Prado, and as others have informed you in the same segment.
Its a shame alot of the buying public just don't want to look at Ford for the Everest is great rig now, its first gen not but this current model ticks the box's.

Reputation is nothing like the past. Look at the time bomb they put in the REEEEliable 79 series. If people really wanted REEEEEliable - and cheap to service - they would have bought local Fords.

seems the consumer and fleet just keeps buying no matter the reputation not as the past.
Thats all I'm saying - they don't care the wallets and numbers say so.

And the problem is Ford don't have a RAV4/CX-5 competitor having killed Escape and never ever had enough stock from the moment it was released, no Corolla competitor after Focus went, no Fiesta to compete below Focus, nothing to compete with Land Cruiser while for Everest we are told it's order and wait, while large Transit is as rare as a truth telling politician. So frankly Ford can't and won't ever match Toyota numbers..

Toyota is always going to cover way more ground because they've got over 20 options in their range, they have something for everyone.

Where as others aren't interested in putting in the work and want to regress to one of two models that they focus all their attention on.

Kia shot themselves in the foot by thinking they were worthy of a price premium. Kia sales have simply diverted to MG.

Most of the Prados being delivered were ordered well before the new Everest even came out.
Ive said before if you order a Prado, they wont even guarantee you'll get a current model.

What I see on the roads doesn’t reflect that.
You see a sportage seltos Sorrento everywhere in Sydney roads - even the wife mentioned about the brand on Sunday and she’s no car lover.
It’s interesting.

Yer that’s likely re prado ordered long before but I’d wager numbers will hardly change the next 12mths in any case.

It's getting vehicles into the country that is the problem. Fords holding yards in Thailand are full, they have boats full of cars waiting to dock due to quarantine hold ups, so ships are being further delayed getting back to Thailand to pick up new loads. It's an absolute clusterfk.

So the monthly figures are basically dependent on how many ships you can get to dock. And then not get flagged in quarantine for cleaning, which is being further and further backlogged. Ford have even reverted to having cleaning crews actually on the ships to double check everything to hopefully avoid being flagged for cleaning. But quarantine inspectors are being so over zealous they will literally flag a whole boat for cleaning if they even find the slightest little bit of contamination.

As you can see with the results, they are up and down like yo-yo's. Everest outsold Prado for a few months because they couldn't get supply, now Prado has gone back to the top after getting decent supplies, while heaps of Everests sit on boats. All you can really do is take the average over quarters, halves and full years to get an accurate number.

And so they should. I think our biosecurity is a little more important than getting your new car straight away.

Fair enough. But is it too much to ask for the government managers of quarantine sites to have used a little foresight and planned appropriately for the extra workload?

These clowns knew what was going to happen, but hired no extra workers to compensate.

Biosecurity, LOL. Every second import we bring in, they release to us to store until they can get round to inspecting it, and that inspection is rarely more detailed than checking that the label on the box matches the paperwork.

Port congestion. Ford have had a lot of Ranger sitting on the grass in Thailand due to customs issues. E.g. I just took deliver of my March built Wildtrak (should have been here in April).



Everest 12 - 18 month wait depending on model and options. If Ford could build more cars it would outsell the rest.

Ford has even had to charter their own ship to bring a complete load of vehicles to Aus. Last I heard it was off the coast of QLD.

Its insane, even though we don't need a replacement to wifey's car for just over 12 months I have just ordered an Everest Platinum in Equinox Bronze so it will get here approx. when wifeys lease is up... My dealer tell's me even that may not be long enough...
Got to wonder how many sales are lost due to availability...
