Pretty impressive IMO:
https://www.grays.com/lot/0001-21003057 2013 TDCI with 655000 on the clock. OK, quite a few cars get to those kays, but this thing looks pretty immaculate. At first I suspected a typo, but the odometer shows 655000. Even then, the overall condition had me wondering. The only real indication that the kays are real is that the driver's seat does show a fair bit of wear. Someone has looked after their Mondeo! Pity it's likely headed for the wreckers now. |

Thanks for sharing this find, very interesting.
I had wondered about the likely longevity of this vehicle, since mine required expensive remediation work just shy of 100,000km (right after I purchased it). But touch wood, I've put 60,000km on in the seven years since and generally all has been well. Bundybear purchased a Mondeo with the goal to get at least 400,000km out of it; but even with a combination of predominantly highway running and what I would consider over-servicing, he only barely made it. So it must be a combination of looking after it and real luck to get to 655,000. |

I think the only questionable bit is the transmission. Allan Howett on YouTube services a taxi fleet of Mondeos reports them easily doing 350,000 miles, but they're manuals.
Possibly the later Powershifts with improved sensors will be better. Generally from what I've seen even when they do fail it's minor stuff like sensors, the problem being that it's a huge job to replace the $100 part, and often not worth doing on a sub sub $10,000 car. Without doubt, the most aggravating, worst design fault of the transmission (especially one so sensitive to oil condition)is the primary oil filter. A $40 part, and with the front cover off you can see it and touch it, but to replace it you have to remove and completely dismantle the transmission. With the valve body out it's so accessible it's really tempting to try deforming it to get it out/new one in. Maybe one day. |

Yep, this has reps car written all over it. A lot of highway kms, I would think.
Mine is just over 200,000……don’t know that I’ll see the kms on this example.
