Good to see this actually being enforced, maybe they realised with everyone driving around Victoria at snails pace the circa 250,000 fines they hand out for 10 under the limit every quarter from our cameras isn't enough to pay for Daniel Andrews' relationship with taxpayer spondoolies

RR130 is one of the absolutely worse written rules in the whole book. There are so many exceptions to 'keep left' that I don't think anyone could seriously ever enforce the rule.

Even if there's tonnes of exceptions, it relies on people contesting it in court which 99% of people aren't going to do over a $192 fine.

By the time you pay legal representation and take the day off work its just cheaper to wear the $192 and 2 points.

Given the number of Vic registered caravans and motorhomes travelling well under the posted speed limit on Queenslands highways, its amusing to see that Victorians ate getting booked for a mere 5-8km/h under the limit!

Franco, you either don't understand what I was pointing out or you are deliberately stirring the pot. Go back and read my posts, mate. I KNOW what Keep Left Unless Overtaking means. I applaud the constabulary for pulling over people who don't follow the law. It is also a pet hate of mine.

But, once again, what you wanted the person booked for in the OP is NOT the same as what these people are being booked for. You're a smart enough guy, go and work it out.....

Interesting to read one of Surf Coast Police's response to a comment - "unfortunately potholes are a VICROADS issue and it can't be used as a defence. Would be judged on a case by case basis - the stretch we refer to is perfect."

2) The driver must not drive in the right lane unless:
(a) the driver is turning right, or making a U-turn from the centre of the road, and is giving a right change of direction signal, or
(b) the driver is overtaking, or
(c) a left lane must turn left sign or left traffic lane arrows apply to any other lane and the driver is not turning left, or
(d) the driver is required to drive in the right lane under rule 159, or
(e) the driver is avoiding an obstruction, or
(f) the traffic in each other lane is congested, or
(g) the traffic in every lane is congested.

the big one to me is the first one. there is no indication at all how far in advance of turning right you can go into the lane. many people seem to think several kms is ok. Contrast this to RR158 that specifically says you can only drive in a bus lane for 100m.
