may be a stupid question can you run 2 different mobile phones from 1 cars bluetooth setup?

That is dependent on the Bluetooth module within the car, not the phones themselves.
Is it for two people or just one person with two phones? |

Yes dependant on device. I had a 2020 triton that could run 2 phones on bluetooth, although only 1 for phone calls and the other for media streaming.

Sorry i might have interpreted the question wrong. Do you mean 2 phones at the same time or different phones induvidually?

does the OP mean independently or in general?
When i bought my 2nd hand SZ Territory, i deleted around 6 phones connected to the car.

went to Adelaide for few days with wife and both had our phones trying to speak using hands free etc just about did my head in, I had her ph working fine but could not get mine to connect. Both Androids.

Usually, car bluetooth allow multiple phones but you can only use one phone at a time.
