hi everyone
apologies for long post will a ba/bf sump fit on a fg engine and what series fg and will fg engine go into ba/bf will ba/bf manifold fit on a fg engine as some people are using fg manifolds in ba/bf engines. to fix the sump leak can you pull off k frame and support engine and do sump seal or should you pull engine out and do all other seals. if you pull engine out to do seals would you be ok just doing seals on your nealy 300,000km engine and drop back in even though it runs fine or should you find another one and do seals on that then put into your car. engine has a minor oil leak and isnt bad enough to pull out just yet even though it is making a small mess and is annoying and want a ford suv with the luxury features but if it gets worse or you can no longer put up with it then may have to do something about it and just live with it longer. what is reasons why people these days turn their daily driven cars over as soon as they start causing trouble or no longer suit their lifestyle and not just put up with them not being perfect or putting up with not knowing when the next thing will go or if it'll make it on a trip without any repairs first (means accept that things will occasionally go wrong and get over it) or put up with not being able to fit something in and wait until it completely dies or is completely worn out or at least a little longer before finally replacing them unlike people years ago and baby boomers did and some still do today. will it be ok to drive the ba or any other daily driver until it dies completely or is completely worn out or past 300,000km or longer if you either like it or just can not afford anything else just yet or might be hanging on until you got room to store it for a cruiser and get another daily (depending on person and circumstances) and just put up with not knowing when the next thing will go or not having room for something. got to get all bushes done (got bushes for front to go in just need ball joints and yet to get shocks and springs and yet to get bushes and springs and shocks for back), and got to get some other things done and the oil leak if it gets worse or no longer able to put up with it before being able to afford something else, and now the aircon needs attention. what would cause the aircon to not be cold but compressor still turn on and off (thinking it may need a regas and some seals for the connections which will get garage to do it), got to get other things done first before that, is there a chance the aircon compressor is still ok if not making noises just isnt cold. is a good secondhand compressor ok or should you go new, if secondhand would there be a certain km to look out for or just anything that looks clean and in good condition. can see why many turn daily drivers 15-20 years old about every 5 or so years but some people (many of us on this page) like their cars or cant afford anything else and have no choice plus cars get to a time where its only really low income earners or people like us on this page that want to fix them and keep them going. how would someone afford the repairs their car may need as quick as they can that dont get alot of money and to fix the things that need fixing and aircon without doing anything shonky like some peoples old medical practitioners do will probably get the local garage to do the bushes and the aircon, though might put the spring and strut together and they only have to change as a whole item. with doing the diff bushes is there a way or is there preparation you can do to make the garages job quicker as have sort of a demanding type of job (have thought of doing the bushes on some spare rear control arms and they do the diff bushes) why are used cars so expensive these days |
