Default Transmission service Perth?

I have a 2010 MC Zetec TDCI which is terrible to drive in "D" mode. We've had the car since new, and to be honest, the transmission has never been smooth since day one. Now it's almost undriveable in drive mode, either struggling to change gear, or slipping out of gear. For the most part, it's not too bad if I drive it in manual mode. Can anyone suggest any transmission specialists in Perth that work on Powershift transmission's? I am south of the river.

Or you could check out West Coast Automatics in Morley, if closer. I know they do work for McInerney Ford Morley.

I'm in Beeliar so Bibra Lake works well. I'd be happy to drive to Morley if they are reasonably priced. Thanks John.

If you can DIY you can save heaps and often get better results.

There's a very good series of videos on YouTube about it. It's really not too difficult.

And an OBD2 adapter and Forscan on a laptop and you get access to all the diagnostics etc.

Thanks Alan. I'm OK with basic maintenance, but I'm not sure I'd be confident enough to take this on.

I took the car in to Global Automatics. Tony took my car out for a test drive. Very nice guy and super helpful. Took me out to the workshop and showed me the Mondeo transmission, and went through the common issues they have. He's had so many issues with transmission rebuilds of these particular gearboxes in the past, that he no longer rebuilds them. He now just replaces them. That would require a new Mechatronic unit and clutch pack. The cars done 180k, so I'll have to way up, whether it's worth it, has been a great car outside of this. He mentioned that since the car has no shuttering or fault codes, that it could be worth taking it to Ford for a software update. I got in contact with Ford, and according to them, it's never had one. Would it be worth it?

In all probability all it needs is fluid and filter change and a clutch and shift fork relearn.
