Default mob phone sound meter apps

question ...I've had a sound meter app on my ph for years and increasingly getting stupid adds, so I deleted it and added another.
fair crack of the whip, the differences are crazy, the new one is so far consistently around 5-8 dB's above the old one.
and thoughts suggestions

As someone who used to do sound level testing for Government Contract compliance, I can’t imagine any phone app would ever give anything close to an accurate measurement.
